Every marae has protocols and rules that you must follow while you are there.  Listen to the tangata whenua and write down the rules that you are to follow while you are at Tuhuru.  Present it as a poster on this page:
(Me pēhea)
take of your shoes.
only look at the rocks.
show respect.
only talk when you are told that you can.
sit on the chair or the ground.
touch when you are told that you can.

call out when you want to.
walk in side with your shoes.
walk over people.
to go in to the wharenui by yourself.
elbows of the table.
do not sit on the couch.

Final Activity:

Write a reflection on your day spent at Tuhuru Marae.  What have you learnt? What did you enjoy the most? What was a challenge?  Do you feel that you know a little more about Te Ao Maori? What are you most proud of doing today?  Is there anything that you now want to learn more about?
When we to the marae i learnt that a long time ago people would bring a stone or a stick to the chief.  If the chief picked it up it would mean that he came in peace if he did not he would be forced to but if he left it on the ground he came for war.every carving had its very own story. What i enjoyed was eating all the oranges  when we got to eat.what was a challenge for me was doing the hongi that is when you press your nose on someone else.when we went to the marae that i learnt that a long time ago people used to use poes to strengthen their wrists to use a tiha.when we went to the marae i really liked hearing some stories about all the carings and feeling all the carvings.I want to learn more about all the carvings.
